McEary Bowens

McEary Bowens, 53, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2018.

Mrs. Bowens, known by close friends and family as “Mickie,” was born July 25, 1965, in Los Angeles, Calif. Graduating from both the Ulysses S. Grant High School in Van Nuys and Trade Technical Beauty School, she received her certificate of cosmetology, followed by her state license. Employed at New Attitude Hair Salon in Los Angeles, she later pursued a career in telecommunication at Kasier Permanente Medical Center. Relocating to Pensacola in 2006, she began working at Navy Federal Credit Union and later, Covenant Care Hospice, soon joining New Faith Missionary Baptist Church.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Second Mt. Triumph Church in Atmore with Pastor Michael Arnold officiating and Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Bowens is survived by one son, Keano Gales of Pensacola; one brother, Jonathan Bowens of San Diego; one sister, Felicia (Bobby Wingo) Bowens of Union City, Ga.; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and other family members and friends.

Mrs. Bowens was preceded in death by her parents; and numerous uncles, aunts and other family members and friends.
