Christopher Lee “Chris” Mealer, 41, of Slidell, La., died Friday, Aug. 10, 2018 at Ochsner Medical Center in Slidell after an extended illness.
Mr. Mealer was a native of Dresden, Tenn. and former resident of Brewton, Picayune, Miss. and Gleason, Tenn. Of the Baptist faith, he was employed as a foreman in the construction industry.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Zion Hill Cemetery with Bro. James Aubrey Wilson officiating and Craver's Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Mealer is survived by his wife, Tisha Hawsey Mealer of Slidell; three sons, Jonathan Mealer of Bump Pass, Va. and Anthony Mealer and Gabe Mealer, both of Slidell; three daughters, Destiney Mealer, Brooklyn Mealer and Shyanne Mealer, all of Slidell; his parents, Morris (Norma Jean) Mealer of Brewton and Theresa (Pete) Birdwell of Gleason; two brothers, Johnathan (Vanessa) Mealer and Shawn Mealer of Brewton; one sister, Crystal Mealer of Brewton; and numerous nephews, nieces and other family members.
