A 2002 Northview graduate was one of two motorists killed in a two-car accident late Saturday night in Santa Rosa County, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.
Steven Bailey, 34, of Milton, was killed when the 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was riding was struck by a 2011 white Dodge Charger on Quinette Road west of Wallace Lake Road about 11:34 p.m., Saturday, June 16.
The Charger was traveling west on Quinette Road and veered into the eastbound lane, causing the front corner to strike the motorcycle, which was headed east on Quinette Road. Bailey was ejected onto the south shoulder from the motorcycle with fatal injuries. Bailey's motorcycle continued to travel southwest onto the shoulder south of Quinette Road and came to rest on the south shoulder of Quinette Road, west of Wallace Lake Road, facing south.
The Charger caught fire and continued west across both lanes as it began to rotate counter clockwise before traveling onto the south shoulder when the vehicle struck a tree. It's final rest was on the south shoulder west of Wallace Lake Road, facing south.
The driver of the Dodge, who also died in the crash, has yet to be identified pending next of kin notice. No other information was available at press time pending further investigation.
