Click-It campaign sees 301 contacts

Flomaton police made 301 contacts during its recent Click-It-Or-Ticket campaign that resulted in 191 citations issued and 16 arrests made.

Police Chief Bryan Davis said the campaign ran from May 21 through June 3. The police department received grant funds to pay overtime to officers to work traffic.

The following citations were issued:

Seatbelt violation, 46; child restraint violation 1; speeding, 31; insurance violation, 17; driver's license violation, 9, suspended/revoked driver's license, 16; improper lane usage, 3 and other violations, 68.

Officers also made criminal charges against eight people for possession of drug paraphernalia, four for possession of marijuana II, one for possession of methamphetamine, one for possession of Ecstasy, one for possession of Suboxone and one fugitive apprehension.

Although the campaign is over, Chief Davis said officers will continue to work traffic on a steady basis.
