Kenneth Ray Quimby

Kenneth Ray Quimby, 64, died Monday, May 28, 2018.

Mr. Quimby was born Nov. 18, 1953 to Owen and Montez Quimby in Atmore, but he grew up in Goodway, Ala. He relocated to Atmore and had lived in Foley for the past eight years. A 1972 graduate of J.U. Blacksher High School, he was an outstanding athlete, playing football and basketball. He was also a musician, playing both the guitar and drums.

The funeral was held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Scott Brooks officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery with Johnson-Quimby Funeral home directing.

Mr. Quimby is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sheila Turk Quimby of Foley; one son, Matthew (Anna) Quimby of Birmingham; one daughter, Heather (Ian) Campbell of London, England; one brother, Johnny M. (Marie) Quimby of Perdidio, Ala.; and numerous nephews, nieces and other family members.

Mr. Quimby was preceded in death by one infant son, Kanneth Ryan Quimby; his parents; and four grandparents, Palmer and Ola Quimby and Ira and Pairolee Oswald.
