Mearlene Bishop, 81, of Atmore, died Sunday May 6, 2018 in Atmore, Ala.
Mrs. Bishop was born Sept. 26, 1936 to Jesse M. and Fairy Traylor Stephenson in Albertville, Ala. She worked as a seamstress at Vanity Fair and was a member of The Church of the Living God.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Earl Harrison and Joe Welch officiating. Burial followed at Perdido Baptist Cemetery with Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Bishop is survived by two sons, Jesse Watson (Vicki) Bishop of Perdido and Rex L. (Michelle) Bishop of Loxley, Ala.; two daughters, Alice Hilton of Loxley and Kathryn (Frank) Gossett of Union Springs, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bishop was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Fred L. Bishop; her parents; one brother, Billy Traylor; and one sister, Willa Dean Pendergrass.
