Russell Edward Welch, 92, of McDavid, Fla., died Friday, April 20, 2018.
Mr. Welch was born Oct. 4, 1925 in Riviera Beach, Fla. and his family moved to McDavid, where he graduated from Tate High School. He later went to work for St. Regis Paper Co., retiring in 1985, after 40 years of service. A member of First Baptist Church of Bratt, he and his wife traveled extensively in the states and abroad after his retirement.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Delbert Redditt officiating. Burial followed at Ray's Chapel Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Welch is survived by one son, Gregory (Gwen) Welch of Cantonment; one daughter, Nancy (Joe) Brook of McDavid; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Mr. Welch was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Teresa Beatrice Welch; his parents, Claude and Farabelle Welch; two brothers, Fred and Tommy Welch; and two sisters, Olivia Magness and Eunice Browning.
