Scotty Ray Hardy

Scotty Ray Hardy, 67, died Sunday, March 11, 2018.

Mr. Hardy was born Aug. 23, 1950 to Jody Harris and Annie Hardy-Woods in Brewton. A 1969 graduate of Southern Normal School, he moved to Jersey City, N.J., and worked at Frys Metals until 2007, when he retired. Relocating back to Brewton in 2008, he began working for the Escambia County Sheriff's Office and renewed his membership at Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 16, at Second Saint Siloam Baptist Church with pastor Willie J. Blue officiating. Burial followed at Baptist Hill Cemetery in Brewton with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Hardy is survived by one son, Terry Hardy of Brewton; one daughter, Stacey Dickens of New Jersey; two brothers, Michael Hardy of Brewton and Wayne Harris of Texas; four sisters, Sylvia Riley and Frankie (Samson) Chatham, both of Brewton, and Francine Harris and Lillie Ruth Harris, both of Texas; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and other family members.

Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by one daughter, Stacey Hardy; and his parents.
