MacArthur Black

MacArthur Black, 74, died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Atmore Nursing Care Center.

Mr. Black was a native of Atmore who graduated from Escambia County Training School in 1961. He relocated to Florida where he worked in fruit orchards for many years and enjoyed several hobbies.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 31, at Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church in the Freemanville Community with Elder Edgar McCarthy officiating. Burial will follow at Stallworth Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.

Mr. Black is survived by his wife, Edna Black of Atmore; two sons, MacArthur Black, Jr. of Shreveport, La. and Kenneth Black of Atmore; one brother, Lewis (Rose Mary) Black of Montgomery; one sister, Daisy Black Williams of Atmore; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other family members.

Mr. Black was preceded in death by one daughter, LaWanna Faye Black; his parents, Theo and Edrena Black; and three brothers, Theo Black, Blanchard Black and John Thomas Black.
