Joseph A. Lanier, 66, of Waller, Texas, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2018.
Mr. Lanier was born April 13, 1951 to Columbus and Emma Hayes Billy Lanier. Known as “Blackhart,” he performed at the Texas Renaissance Festival and with the Pride of Bedlam, and was a retired school teacher.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, at Hoomesville Church of Christ in Damascus, Ala. with Bro. Wally Booker officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Lanier is survived by his wife, Carol Pickens Lanier of Waller; three daughters, Jennifer (Donald) Rawls of Millbrook, Ala., Cynthia (Shane) Conway of Stockton, Ala. and Rebecca (Jeremy) McKinley of Albany, Ga.; and eight grandchildren.
