Wind Creek donates $10K to YMCA

The Atmore Area YMCA was selected by Wind Creek Atmore to receive a donation from its popular TITO (Ticket In-Ticket Out) program. Wind Creek Atmore Property Manager Tim Ramer presented the check for $10,339. "With TITO we put donation boxes around the property and give guests the opportunity to donate to a different nonprofit group each month," said Ramer.

The program has gained enthusiastic support from Wind Creek guests since it began in 2016. The donations can include cash as well as unwanted cash-out tickets from guests.

While the tickets are typically worth a few cents each, it all adds up to thousands of dollars local groups can use to make a difference. Past recipients have included schools, child sports leagues and libraries, and a local community theater, all of which play big roles in the success and growth of our communities.

"We had no idea when we started this program that we would be giving 10, 11, 12 thousand dollar checks each month," Ramer said.

"It's just a way for Wind Creek as well as our guests to be able to say thank you for providing such valuable health and fitness programs to the Atmore area."

YMCA CEO Paul Chason says the Y has plans for the donated funds.

"The YMCA has several ideas for new activities and these monies are perfect for start-up expenses," said Chason.

"I am sure we will have some very good discussions at our board meetings about how we can best use this contribution to provide something in return to our community. On behalf of our Board of Directors, and Staff, I thank everyone that made this contribution possible."
