Accused Subway thief arrested

A man accused of breaking into the Subway in Flomaton last week was taken into custody Monday without incident at a residence near Century and is facing charges in Flomaton, along with outstanding warrants in Escambia County, Ala.

Patrick Davis Griffis, 26, with multiple addresses listed that include Flomaton, was arrested by Escambia County (Fla.) sheriff's deputies Monday.

Flomaton Police Chief Bryan Davis said Griffis was wanted in Flomaton on charges of burglary III, theft of property I and criminal mischief III. He was also wanted in Escambia County, Ala., on warrants charging him with failure to appear and a probation violation.

Davis said Griffis was booked into the Escambia County Jail in Pensacola on the Alabama warrants and faces extradition to Escambia County, Ala.

Flomaton police got warrants last Wednesday for Griffis' arrest, accusing him of kicking in the back door of Subway on Sidney Manning Boulevard the night before and taking an undisclosed amount of cash out of the safe.
