Herman Vernon Salter, 73, of Brewton, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017 after a brief illness.
Mr. Salter was a native and former resident of Castleberry, Fla. who became a long time resident of Brewton. An avid fisherman, he attended Castleberry School System and was employed as a truck driver before retiring.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 15, at Travis Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Cardwell officiating. Burial followed at Travis Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
Mr. Salter is survived by two daughters, Tricia Harrison of Pace, Fla. and JoAnn Castleberry of Pensacola; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Salter was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Lee and Lena Miller Salter; and two sisters, Lillian Salter and Carolyn Lockwood.
