Said baby born with marijuana in system
An Atmore woman who gave birth to a child on May 28, 2022, was arrested last Thursday on a warrant charging her with chemical endangerment of the child after the child tested positive for marijuana when it was born.
Christina Yanacheak, 41, 2881 Highway 21, Lot 4, was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton and jailed on $5,000 bond.
According to reports, the Atmore Police Department was notified on May 28, 2022, by the Escambia County Department of Human Resources concerning a child born at the North Baldwin Infirmary that tested positive for marijuana.
Police stated investigators identified Yanacheak as the mother and made several attempts to contact her but were unsuccessful.
Police obtained an arrest warrant and Yanacheak was arrested Nov. 30.
