Dusty B. Mason, 36, 4151 Still Road, was driving a silver Chevrolet Monte Carlo with no license plate attached when a deputy attempted to conduct a warrant service at 4151 Still Road May 23, according to an Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff's Office (ECSO) report.
Prior to his arrival at the address to serve the warrant, the officer completed a u-turn to conduct a traffic stop of the Monte Carlo for not having a license plate, but was unable to located the vehicle. Due to prior incidents with the vehicle, the officers believed Mason to be the driver, who resides at the address on the warrant. A master name index search of Mason was conducted and it was determined he had an outstanding warrant with the ECSO, the report said.
While one of the officers was checking the residence, he observed tire tracks heading toward a wooded area and heard people talking in the same direction. The officer located Mason in the driver's seat of the Monte Carlo. He conducted a search of Mason to arrest him and located a plastic bag with meth inside a small white coin bag inside Mason's left front pocket, the report noted.
