School board offers to take the control over Hurricane Park; meeting is set for Feb. 2
The town of Flomaton will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at town hall for the public to give input into a proposed plan for the town to relinquish its lease on Hurricane Park back to the Escambia County School System, which will then make the school board responsible for all improvements and maintenance.
On Aug. 27, 1985 the school board and the Flomaton Town Council agreed on a 99-year lease for the school-owned property. The agreement was signed by Mayor Frank Davis and Superintendent Raymond Beasley.
