Wright accused of stealing truck parked at gas pump; credit card attempt in McDavid

The East Brewton Police Department is asking the public for help in locating Jason Earl Wright, who is accused of stealing a pickup truck Tuesday morning and trying to use a stolen credit card at a store McDavid.

Police Chief Kenny Brazille said the victim pulled his red 1993 Chevrolet pickup truck to a gas pump at the Circle K in East Brewton about 7:20 a.m. Tuesday. The victim went inside the store to pay and Wright alledgely entered the vehicle and left.

Brazille said the pickup truck, with Alabama license plate 30A07MY is also unique in the fact that the front grill is painted the same color as the truck.

About 9 a.m. Tuesday, Wright is accused to trying to use a credit card left in the truck to make a purchase in McDavid. Chief Brazille also noted Wright had a long criminal history.

Prior to the incident at the Circle K, police were called to Piggly Wiggly in reference to a man, later identified as Wright, harassing customers in the parking lot and asking them for cigarettes.

Chief Brazille said if anyone has information concerning Wright's whereabouts or has seen the red pickup truck, should call the East Brewton Police Department at 251-867-4865 or their nearest law enforcement agency.
