Two jailed for murder attempts

Shots fired in two separate Atmore incidents; no victims are injured

Two Atmore residents were arrested on multiple counts of attempted murder in two separate incidents on Patterson Street.

Eric Montray Frye, 31, 49 Liberty St., was charged with eight counts of attempted murder and is being held in the Escambia County Detention Center on $500,000 bond.

Court records state Frye fired multiple shots into a crowd of people on Sept. 17 while driving by the gathering. Nobody was injured in the shootings.

On Sept. 20, Atmore police were dispatched to the 200 block of Patterson Street in reference to a disturbance over a parking space that ended with shots being fired.

According to information released by the Atmore Police Department, Brandie Patterson, aka Brandie Webb, 47, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of attempted murder for also firing a weapon into a crowd. Patterson was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton. As of press time Wednesday Patterson had not appeared for a bond hearing.

Police reported Patterson began arguing with a neighbor and several of the neighbor's friends in reference to parking. Witnesses said Patterson ran into her apartment, retrieved her handgun, ran back outside and fired several times at the victims. Nobody was injured.

Patterson then went back inside her apartment and was contacted by police, who took her into custody. Atmore police reported recovering a .9-mm semi-automatic handgun believed to be the weapon fired by Patterson.
