Bids opened to begin work on Flomaton's sewer lagoon

Tripteck of Atmore submits low bid for first phase of lagoon project

Phase I of the sewer lagoon upgrade project on Martin Luther King Drive in Flomaton should begin soon following Tuesday’s bid opening at Flomaton Town Hall.

Triptek Construction of Atmore submitted the low bid of $387,000. The only other bid submitted was from Arrington Curb and Excavation for $470,432.

The town of Flomaton received a $350,000 Community Development Block Grant for the project which required a $70,000 match by the town of Flomaton.

Jeremy McMath with Civil Southeast said Phase I will include the installation of a chlorine contact chamber and the replacement of the baffle curtains at the lagoon.

He noted the town is seeking additional grant funds for the second phase of the project.
