Town agrees to buy a truck from Appleton
The Flomaton Fire Department will be adding an additional firetruck after the town council voted Monday afternoon to purchase a used truck from the Appleton Fire Department.
Mayor Dewey Bondurant, Jr., said he had talked with Fire Chief Steve Stanton and said the chief was OK with the town purchasing the used truck for $2,500.
Utilities Superintendent Shaun Moye said the truck has a rebuilt engine and pump and if it was critical the town get another truck now, this was the route to go. He added if the fire department could ‘limp along’ until Escambia County, Fla., sells its used trucks...
