Box to gather old flags at post office
Flomaton resident Julian Ptomey said he's seen too many torn and discarded American flags around town and solicited the help of Boy Scout Troop 31 and the Flomaton Lions Club to give residents and businesses a way to properly dispose of old flags.
Ptomey said the Tri-City Ledger donated an old newspaper rack that he has now painted red-white and blue and has been placed outside the Flomaton post office. He said people can place their old flags inside the box and the Boy Scouts will make sure they are disposed of correctly. He said it's part of a public service project for the Boy Scouts.
