Flomaton jails three for drugs

Officers find Spice, Hydrocodone after stop

A traffic stop by Flomaton police on March 16 led to the arrest of three people on drug charges after officers discovered illegal drugs and paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

Joe Seaphers Rabon, 66, 68 Buffington Court Castleberry, Jonathon Darroll Rabon, 40, Mize Road, Flomaton, and Angela Denise Salter, 60, Mize Road, were arrested and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.

Flomaton Police Chief Chance Thompson said the traffic stop for improper lane usage was initiated about 5:15 p.m. Monday on Highway 31 in Flomaton. After the stop, he said officers found a leafy substance believed to be synthetic marijuana (Spice), pills identified as Hydrocodone and other unidentifiable pills.

Jonathon Rabon was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Spice) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Jonathon Rabon also had active warrants for his arrest at the time of the stop.

Joe Rabon was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Spice and hydrocodone) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Salter was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (Spice) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Salter also had active warrants for her arrest at the time of the traffic stop.

During a bond hearing May 17 before District Judge Eric Coale, all three suspects stated they were indigent and requested a court-appointed attorney, which was granted.

Coale set bonds of $5,000 for each of the three.
