Drop at Fountain leads to charges filed

An attempt by a man with addresses in Mobile and Texas was arrested after being accused of using a drone to deliver contraband to inmates at the Fountain Correctional Institute in Atmore.

According to court records, Joshua Hunter, 33, with addresses listed at 4104 Springdale Road, Mobile, but also listed an address in Dallas, Texas, was charged with forbidden activity and trespassing at a prison.

Records state on April 4, Hunter used a drone in an attempt to deliver 37 cell phones into the correctional center.

Law enforcement officers assigned to the Department of Corrections made the arrest and Hunter was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.

Hunter was given a bond of $25,000 with the stipulation if he's released he's not to go on property owned by the department of corrections.
