9-wheelers using ‘Jake’ breaks inside the town limits of Flomaton will now be subject to a citation after the town council passed an ordinance Monday afternoon banning the use of of those engine compression brakes in the town.
Councilman Jim Johnson said when the town bans the use of the ‘Jake’ brakes the town needs to post signs warning the truck drivers. Police Chief Chance Thompson said they have signs in East Brewton forbidding the use of the brakes.
