Driver critical in crash

Victim's ID not given

A Pensacola man is in critical condition after his vehicle left the road Tuesday morning in McDavid, Fla. and hit a tree.

The single vehicle crash involved a white sedan traveling northbound on Highway 29 just south of Cotton Creek Road in McDavid, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. The 47-year-old driver failed to navigate a slight curve of the road and subsequently entered the east shoulder of the roadway and collided head-on with a tree.

He was transported to Sacred heart Hospital by LifeFlight helicopter and is listed in very critical condition. It is unknown if the driver was wearing a seatbelt.

As of press time Wednesday, the highway patrol had not released his name.
