No burning from 7 a.m to 7 p.m.
Following complaints about the burning of yard debris, the Flomaton Town Council voted Monday afternoon to ban burning from 7 p.m to 7 a.m. within the town limits.
The council had discussed having people get a permit to burn vegetation, limbs and woods, but opted not to include it in the ordinance.
An exception to the new ordinance will allow for an open fire for cooking and recreational purposes as long as the fire is started, maintained and kept in a steel, metal or masonry container, such as a barbecue grill, fire pit or outdoor fireplace.
