Already arrested on drug charges, Flomaton woman found with more drugs at the jail
A Flomaton woman is facing a drug charge following a traffic stop Nov. 10 when a law enforcement officer searched her car.
Whitney Lee Warden, 32, 91 Evelyn St., was traveling on Highway 29 when a Florida deputy observed the gray Kia Sportage she was driving weave from the far left to the far right side of the highway, according to an Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff's office report.
The report said the driver gave no signal with intentions of switching lanes while moving across the white lines. The officer then initiated a traffic stop due to the traffic violation.
When the officer made contact with the driver, identified as Warden, he observed her speech to be slurred. He asked her to step out of the vehicle for further investigation.
A check of Warden's record indicated she did not have a driver's license, the report stated. At that time, the officer advised Warden to call someone with a valid drivers license to come get her and the vehicle.
Another deputy asked Warden's permission to search her vehicle and she consented. As the vehicle was searched, the deputy located three and a quarter green rectangle pills, identified as Xanax, in the center coin holder. Warden did not have a prescription for the pills
Warden was arrested and searched at that time with negative results. The deputy asked her if there was anything on her person that he may have missed that the jail staff may find and Warden answered there was not. Warden was placed in the backseat of the deputy's patrol vehicle, the report said.
Warden's vehicle was secured and left on the scene to be picked up by a friend, per her request.
Warden was transported to Escambia County Jail in Pensacola, where a search of her person revealed an orange pill bottle with the label scratched off in her bra. Inside the pill container was a clear plastic baggie with methamphetamine and blue circular pills, identified as Alprazolam.
Warden was charged with two counts felony possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and given a total bond of $10,000.
