Council approves property as surplus

Opens door for new eatery downtown

The Flomaton Town Council passed resolutions to surplus properties behind the old Maw-Maw's restaurant and the parking lot in downtown Flomaton that hopefully will be the new home of the Panhandle Restaurant currently located in Century.

The council had previously declared the buildings across from town hall, that the town owns, surplus property that allows the town to sell the buildings for less than appraised value but at least fair market value.

Town Attorney Chuck Johns said there was some property behind the building that also needed to be surplussed.
