Halloween events kicking off today

Activities will continue until Sunday night

With Halloween coming this Sunday, local events will kick off Thursday in Brewton, Flomaton and Jay and wrap up Sunday evening.

Brewton

Alabama Coastal Community College is sponsoring a Trunk or Treat from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28 at 220 Alco Dr. in Brewton. There will be fun and games, attendees may bring a lawn chair and watch a scary movie. Screening begins at 8:15 p.m. and the movie is rated R, age 17 and older only.

Brewton's Halloween Trick or Treat will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28, as set forth by the Brewton City Council.

The 17th Annual Brewton Lions Club Car Show, Ribs and Rides will be from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30, at 220 St. Joseph St. in downtown Brewton. A $10 meal ticket with each car registered. The show is outside, inside restrooms. There will be a 50/50 drawing, door prizes and music. Contact Glen Freeman at 251-867-4781.

Flomaton

Flomaton High School and Elementary School PTO is having a Hurricane Halloween from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28, at the school. The Junior/Senior Powder Puff football game will be at 7 p.m. There will be food, games candy and more.

Jay

The Town of Jay will have Trick or Treat on Commerce Street from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28, on Commerce Street. There will be candy, vendors, a costume contest and much more family fun.

The Miller family will have a Haunted Path event from 6 p.m. until, Sunday, Oct. 31, at their home at 3978 Arthur Avenue. There will be lots of candy up for grabs and the public is invited.

Atmore

The Atmore Chamber of Commerce will hold a Trick or Treat on the Street in Atmore's business district from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 29. on Main Street.

Line-up begins at 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 29, for Atmore's Witches' Ride, with the ride starting at 5:45 p.m. Fee is $20 per bike or broom to walk and $50 per golf cart. For more info, visit http://www.mainstreetatmore.org.

Century

The Century Area Chamber of Commerce, PSC and West Fraser will hold a Trunk or Treat from 5 p.m. until, Friday, Oct. 29, at 440 E. Hecker Road in Century. There will be treats, food trucks and music. For more info, contact Shelisa at 850-366-4062.

The Truth for Youth in partnership with Modern Woodmen of America matching funds will have a fundraiser event from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30 at Showalter Park in Century.
