Heavy rains cause flooding, road and bridge outages

Heavy rains Tuesday caused major flooding issues in Brewton, East Brewton and other areas across Escambia County (Ala.) and parts of the Florida panhandle. Escambia County Emergency Management Director David Adams said unofficial reports show the area received 6 to 8 inches of rain and higher in other areas. As of Wednesday afternoon flood waters were receding. Pictured above is Persimmon Street in Brewton which was under water, along with portions of Jennings Park.
