Atmore man jailed for sex torture

Harris was on probation at time he was arrested on multiple sex and kidnapping charges

An Atmore man has been jailed on multiple charges that include kidnapping I, sexual abuse I, sexual torture/abuse and domestic violence II.

Anthony Anttwon Harris, 40, 1717 Martin Luther King Ave., was jailed on $500,000 following his arrest.

Court records show that on Sept. 21, 2021, Harris beat the female victim with his fist, a piece of wood and a crowbar, causing multiple lacerations to her head that caused a black eye and swollen forehead.

Records also state Harris is accused of forcibly inserting a 1 by 2 inch board into the victim's vagina against her will.

Court records also show that Harris was on probation for several charges at the time of his arrest. Originally charged with robbery II, he pleaded guilty to robbery III in September, 2021, and was placed on probation.

On March 15, 2021, Harris pleaded guilty to felony assault II charges. He received a 180-month sentence with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on 60 months probation.

In addition to his new charges, violation of probation warrants have also been issued.

After setting the $500,000 bond on the most recent charges, District Judge Eric Coale ordered Harris to have no contact with the victim and not to possess firearm.
