Late Breaking News: Edward Russell Dubose denied parole again

Late Wednesday the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles denied parole for Edward Russell Dubose, who pleaded guilty to the kidnapping, rape, sodomy and murder of 16-year old T.R. Miller High School student Stephanie King.

Miss King was murdered on Oct. 22, 1988, after she was abducted from Alco Baptist Church.

Dubose was originally found guilty by a jury and sentenced to death. His conviction was overturned and Dubose pleaded guilty and was given a life sentence with the possibility of parole.

As of press time Wednesday for the Tri-City Ledger's print edition, the results of Dubose's Wednesday parole hearing were not available.

However, the Ledger staff confirmed later Wednesday that the parole board had denied Dubose's parole and he will remain behind bars.
