When Escambia County (Ala.) voters head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 3, they will experience new technology with an electronic poll book that will scan driver's licenses to verify addresses and voter registration.
Natalie Rodgers, chief clerk at the Escambia County Judge of Probate's Office, said the new technology will speed up the voting process and insure accuracy.
She said the new scanner was used during the poll worker training session with no difficulties.
Polls across the county will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Circuit Clerk John Robert Fountain noted that today (Thursday, Oct. 29) is the last day apply for absentee ballot for Tuesday's election.
