Donald “Lefty” Benjamin Boutwell, 80, of Jay, Fla., died Sunday, June 7, 2020, in a Pensacola Hospice following a brief illness.
Mr. Boutwell was born Aug. 6, 1939, to Desmond and Vera Campbell Boutwell in Jay, where he was a lifelong resident. A member of Jay United Methodist Church and 1957 graduate of Jay High School, he owned and operated Boutwell Feed and Seed and worked as a farmer.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 11, at the Cornerstone Christian Church with Rev. Bobby Carnley, Rev. Cecil Jackson and Rev. Fredrick Barrow officiating. Burial followed at Jay Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
Mr. Boutwell is survived by his wife, Ann Fore Boutwell of Jay; one son, Donnie (Pam) Boutwell of Jay; one daughter, Kelly (Ricky Godwin) Boutwell of Jay; one brother, Roger (Debbie) Boutwell of Atmore; one sister, Deborah (Larry) Patton of Colombia, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Boutwell was preceded in death by his parents.
