John 'Jay' Bose Koldewey

John “Jay” Bose Koldeway, 62, of Brewton, died Monday, March 23, 2020, in a Birmingham hospital following a brief illness.

Mr. Koldewey was born April 23, 1957, in Jacksonville, Fla. and became a long-time resident of Brewton. Of the Episcopalian faith, he was a 1975 graduate of T.R. Miller High School who worked as a home building contractor and enjoyed several hobbies.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Dasinger-Pope Cemetery in the Smuteye community of Union Springs, Ala. with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

Mr. Koldewey is survived by his mother, Joy Dasinger; one daughter, Kristin Koldewey; three brothers, Michael A. (Aleta) Dasinger, II, Brian (Amanda) Dasinger and Thomas Dasinger; one sister, Ruthie McCarty; 18 nephews and nieces; and numerous cousins and other family members and friends.

Mr. Koldewey was preceded in death by his father, John Bose Koldewey, Sr.; and other extended family members.
