Sarah Ruth Chavers Eiland, 84, of Brewton, died Monday, March 30, 2020, in a local nursing facility following a brief illness.
Mrs. Eiland was born Oct. 28, 1935, in Brewton, where she was a lifelong resident. A member of the Catawba Springs Baptist Church and graduate of Flomaton High School, she was a homemaker and former employee of Chemstrand and Judy Bond.
A graveside service were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 4, at Catawba Springs Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Edwards and Rev. Steve Yuhasz officiating. Burial followed with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
Mrs. Eiland is survived by three sons, Greg (Kim) Eiland of Jay, Fla., David (Deana) Eiland of Argyle, Texas and Jerry (Shannon) Eiland of Flomaton; one brother, Sonny (Bobbie) Chavers of Brewton; one sister, Teeny (Roy) Freeman of Brewton; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Eiland was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Eiland; and one son, Keith Smith.
