Holman visitor arrested for contraband

Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore was the sight of a recent contraband arrest, reflecting the ADOC's (Alabama Department of Correction) zero-tolerance of contraband.
Amelia Allen, 43, of Moundville, Ala., was on property around 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, to visit an inmate when a narcotic-detection canine alerted to her vehicle, according to an ADOC report.
A search of the vehicle by an ADOC investigator revealed marijuana and a handgun in the vehicle. Allen was arrested and charged with second degree possession of marijuana.
