A 54-year old Brewton man has been charged with enticing a child for immoral purposes and soliciting prostitution from a minor after being accused of offering a 14-year old boy $20 to let him perform a sex act on the teenager.
Jeffrey Wayne Hacker, 270 Dawson St., appeared before District Judge Eric Coale Friday and was given a bond of $250,000.
Assistant District Attorney Todd Stearns told Judge Coale that Hacker is accused of offering the young boy the $20 for Hacker to perform oral sex on the teen.
Stearns also said Hacker is facing a possible prison term of 20 years if convicted and felt he was a flight risk. He also asked the judge for a bond of no less than $500,000.
Should Hacker be released on bond he will be required to wear an ankle monitor and be under house arrest. He is also not to have any contact with the victim or any minor under the age of 18.
Hacker told the judge he needed 30 days to get his mother settled in a nursing home and said he couldn't afford the bond. However, Hacker was taken directly back to the Escambia County Detention Center.
