Atmore
PRAYER BREAKFAST
A Prayer Breakfast will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, at Atmore Community Hospital’s Mayson Auditorium, located at 401 Medical Park Dr. in Atmore. A $12 donation at the door or tickets can be purchased at Unity House.
PARADE and MEMORIAL PROGRAM
MLK Parade line-up is at 9 a.m., Monday, Jan. 20, at Houston Avery Park, parade starts at 10 a.m., ends at Emmanuel Faith Center, located 710 E. Ridgeley St. for a memorial program. Entry fee is $10 per unit for vehicles and $20 entry fee for parade contest floats. First($100), second($75) and third($50) prizes will be given at memorial. Guest speaker is James Averhart of Mobile, program includes service award, entertainment and a dinner.
Brewton
PARADE
MLK Parade is at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, and will begin from Brewton Elementary School on Highway 31, no entry fee for floats. First ($100), second ($75) and third ($50) place prizes will be given for best float.
CELEBRATION
MLK Program at 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 19, at Second St. Siloam Baptist Church with guest speaker Dr. Michael Reese of Bessemer, Ala. Vendors, free hot dogs, pony rides, face painting, jumpers, T.R. Miller and W.S. Neal bands will be there.
Century
PARADE
The motorcade will line up at 8 a.m., Monday, Jan. 20, at the Old Carver School in front of Marie McMurray Ball Park with a 9 a.m. kick off.
PROGRAM
The parade will end at the Agricultural Building on Highway 4 and at 10 a.m., a program celebrating the life of Dr. King will begin. Guest speaker is Pastor Karen Shuford of Wesley Chapel C.M.E. Church in Century.
Flomaton
MARCH
A march will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 20, beginning at Highway 31 and MLK Drive and ending to the end of MLK Drive at Van Hoosen Road.
CELEBRATION
A Celebration will follow at 10 a.m. at Damascus Baptist Church, located at 623 MLK Dr. with guest speaker Bro. Michael Bowen and Pastor Henry Hawkins.
