Chase ends with arrest

Flomaton police were dispatched to a trespassing call about 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 10 at Pecan Grove Trailer Park and arrested the suspect on drug charges after finding methamphetamine and other paraphernalia in his possession.

Eric Mathis, 24, no address listed, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (meth) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to reports, when police arrived they observed the suspect, later identified as Mathis, running from the police into a shed at another location within the trailer park.

When apprehended, officers reported finding meth and various drug paraphernalia that included a glass pipe, a grinder and straws that contained meth residue.

Mathis was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center and released on $5,000 bond. He also posted a $500 bond and was released on a failure to appear warrant.
