Eddie David Smith, 93, of Brewton, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019.
Mr. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Brewton who served in the U.S. Marine Corps from march 1944 to July 1946, during World War II. A graduate of W.S. Neal High School, he worked for Norsworthy Construction for more than 40 years, until his retirement. He was a member of the North Brewton Baptist Church.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the North Brewton Baptist Church in brewton with Bro. Shaphan Helms officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel directing.
Mr. Smith is survived by one son, Robbie (Jackie) Smith of Brewton; one sister, Mary (Tommy) Vanya of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Sarah Burch Smith; his parents, Jeppie Uriah and Maude Gertrude Smith; and one brother, Jeppie Uriah Smith, Jr. of Brewton.
