Claude Castleberry, 81, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019.
Mr. Castleberry was born Feb. 7, 1938 to Willis, Sr. and Martha Castleberry in Evergreen, Ala. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Jesse Wagner, a demolition contractor for more than 30 years and served as a deacon at Mount Calvary Baptist Church until he returned to Evergreen in 2010, when he reunited with Nazarene Baptist Church and became a member of the Sisters and Brothers of Charity Society.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 11, at Greater Nazerene Baptist Church with Min. John O. Meeks officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Directors directing.
Mr. Castleberry is survived by one son, David Calvin Castleberry; three brothers, Fred (Gwendolyn) Castleberry, James Castleberry, David (Georgia) Castleberry and Kenneth Casletberry; one sister, Dorothy Wilson; one grandchild; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Castleberry was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Willis Castleberry, Jr., Aubrey Castleberry and Isaiah Castleberry; three sisters, Mabel Lusane, Rosie Lewis and Drucilla Harris; and numerous other family members.
