Speed limits, striping approved

Held over from the last meeting, the Escambia County Commission approved a bid from Ozark Striping for road striping on county roads for the 2019-20 fiscal year.

At the last meeting, County Engineer Bill Bridges told the commission he was rebidding the striping.

In other business Monday, the commission voted to accept a $33,513 Emergency Management Assessment grant that provides general support to the county's emergency management office.

County Clerk-Administrator Tony Sanks said it was an annual grant received by the council.

The commission also voted to set the speed limit on certain parts of Nelson Road at 20 mph and 15 mph in areas where most of the residents live.
