Flomaton High School senior Daquan Johnson has been selected to play in the annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic football game set for Dec. 14 in Hattiesburg, Miss.
Flomaton head football coach Doug Vickery has also been selected as one of the coaches for the Alabama team.
Johnson becomes the first Flomaton football player to be selected to play in the all-star classic and the seventh player from Escambia County to play.
Johnson, the reigning Class 3A Back of the Year and a Troy commitment, is listed as a linebacker on the Alabama roster for the classic.
“I'm proud and happy for Daquan,” Coach Vickery said. “He has worked very hard and continues to work very hard.”
Johnson joins T.R. Miller's Patrick Byrne, Anthony Union, Ron Gibson and Willie Smith, along with W.S. Neal's Jarred Cooper and Escambia County High School's Tyler Nero as the only Escambia County players selected to play in the annual classic.
