Jessie Bernice Wesley, 86, of the Canoe community near Atmore, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, at Solaris Healthcare in Pensacola.
Mrs. Wesley was a 1951 graduate of Escambia County Training School who retired as a merchandise handler with J.C. Penney in Pensacola with 22 years. She was a member of St. John Divine Missionary Baptist Church.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Liberty Baptist Choir with Rev. Isaac Bradley and Dr. James P. Brown, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Stallworth Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
Mrs. Wesley is survived by one son, Charles E. (Sarah) Wesley of Theodore, Ala.; two daughters, Marilyn D. Wesley of Atmore and Amy Y. Wesley of Union City, Ga.; two sisters, Voncile Wesley of Newark, N.J. and Evelyn Louise (Jesse) Richardson of Atmore; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Wesley was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Amy Wesley; and her brothers.
