Traffic stop nets DUI, marijuana

A Repton woman originally pulled over for failing to use a turn signal ended up in jail on marijuana and driving under the influence charges.

Hannah Olivia Jackson, 33, 1741 County Road 15, was arrested Sunday following a traffic stop in East Brewton.

According to reports, East Brewton Police Officer Charles Land observed a white Nissan Altima that failed to use a turn signal on Forrest Avenue.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and reported when he approached the driver he noticed her pupils were dilated and she was acting very nervous. He also reported she was having a hard time complying with the officer.

Land performed a field sobriety test which he reported Jackson failed.

A search of the vehicle also turned up marijuana in the front passenger seat.

Jackson was charged with DUI from a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana II.
