Joseph Barnett Weaver, Jr., 92, died Sunday, July 14, 2019.
Mr. Weaver was born March 5, 1927, to Joseph Barnett, Sr. and Viola Booker Weaver in Akron, Ohio. His family relocated to Conecuh County, Ala., where he grew up on a farm. At age 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was sent to Pearl Harbor during WWII. When the war ended, he returned home and finished high school at Lyeffion School, then graduated from Troy State Teacher's College in 1953.
