Ernest Everett Merritt, 67, died Thursday, July 11, 2019 in Castleberry.

Mr. Merritt was born in Fairhope, Ala. and had been a lifelong resident of Castleberry. A member of the Castleberry High School Class of 1969, he was owner and operator of a saw mill for a number of years and created woodwork and flooring. Of the Assembly of God faith, he was a former deacon at Appleton Assembly of God Church.

Mr. Merritt is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary E. Pugh Merritt of Castleberry; one son, Everett Dewayne (Tiphanie) Merritt of Wallace, Ala.; two daughters, Kristie Michelle Davis of Castle...
