Stolen vehicle search leads to meth charge

A McDavid woman associated with a possible stolen vehicle faces a felony drug possession charge after law enforcement searched her and found methamphetamine.

Katherine Leigh Glass, 38, 306 Cox Road, was one of two females who were found at 4165 Pine Forest Road in possession of a 2002 black GMC pickup by the vehicle's owner that had been reported stolen, according to an Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff's Office report.

When law enforcement responded, the owner of the stolen vehicle told officers one of the females, 'Lisa,' had taken off on foot in an unknown direction, the report said.

Suspect Glass told officers she was unsure if the vehicle had been stolen. The report said a search of Glass's right front coin pocket revealed a small plastic baggie which held a crystal-like substance, or methamphetamine.

During a further investigation of the stolen vehicle, officers learned it had been a civil matter between the owner of the vehicle and his son, the report said.

Glass could not provide any additional information on 'Lisa,' other than she was a white female, approximately 6 feet tall and 185 pounds.

Glass was arrested and charged with one count felony possession of a controlled substance without prescription and transported to Escambia County Jail where she was given a bond of $5,000.
