Burnt Corn battle returns to Brewton

Event kicks off at 9 a.m. at Jennings Park; re-enactment of battle scheduled for noon

Battle of Burnt Corn to be re-enacted this weekend

The city of Brewton will take a trip back to yesteryear this Saturday with the re-enactment of the Battle of Burnt Corn Creek, which will kickoff at 9 a.m. at Jennings Park and end with the battle that begins with noon.

Connie Baggett, information officer for the city of Brewton, exhibits that include a living history demonstration, cultural history exhibits, vendors native American items and of course vendors with food and drinks will begin at 9 a.m.

At 12 noon, there will be a re-enactment of the July 27, 1813 battle between United States troops, Creek Indians and the Red Stick Warriors....
